Performance improvement

Performance improvement (PI) is a key function of IA/NEPCA and a valuable professional service to its member centers. In recent years, performance (or quality) improvement has broadened in range: from clinical only, to administrative, management, and support staff processes; from a blaming or “finger pointing” perspective to an analysis of process and function; and from studying isolated areas or services to considering interdisciplinary and cross-functional linkages. PI is incorporated into strategic and financial planning; provides key input into leadership functions; and is a principal avenue to hearing and meeting the needs and expectations of all key customers. IA/NEPCA currently has one full time employee dedicated to network performance improvement.
