Access Plans

Access to affordable, high quality health care remains a critical concern for millions of individuals across the country. A report published in March 2007 by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) and the Robert Graham Center of the American Academy of Family Physicians revealed that 56 million Americans are medically disenfranchised, including 529,620 Iowans and 126,602 Nebraskans. In response to this unmet need, NACHC has outlined an aggressive goal for community health centers to serve 30 million patients by 2015.

IA/NEPCA and its member health centers fully support this goal and have developed the following plans to increase access to medical and dental services in Iowa and Nebraska. Achieving this goal will require a significant investment of resources by Iowa’s health centers, working in partnership with public and private entities.
