Primary Care Office Director
Thomas Rauner, Primary Care Office Director, has been with the Health and Human Services for 20 years and in the Office of Rural Health for the past 15 years. He is in charge of designating federal shortage areas for primary care, dental, mental health, and Rural Health Clinics throughout the state. He also provides technical assistance to communities regarding coordination and preparation of Community Health Center applications.
He coordinates efforts with the National Health Service Corps, the State 30 J-1 Visa Waiver Program, and the National Rural Recruitment and Retention Network to assist communities and health care practitioners in meeting the needs of underserved populations. He works with a number of programs involving the preparation and placement of health care providers in federal and state underserved areas.
