
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mike DeAnda is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a B.A. and Masters degrees in Social Work (M.S.W.). He has served as the President/CEO of the Des Moines Health Center since 1981 and is involved in several groups working to improve access to medical and dental care both locally and statewide. Mr. DeAnda established the Des Moines Health Center’s School Smiles Program, a comprehensive school based oral health program including a school based dental sealant program in Polk County elementary schools and a fluoride varnish program in area preschools and Head Start programs. He also established the first mobile dental clinic van program in Iowa providing site based dental treatment services at area schools.
