
Executive Director
Kathy Wilkes is the Chief Executive Officer of Community Health Center of Fort Dodge, Inc. (CHCFD). Ms. Wilkes brings a wealth of knowledge in social services programs and business management experience in non-profit, for-profit, education, and governmental arenas to the CHCFD.
CHCFD is preparing to receive funding from the Bureau of Primary Health Care in 2006 for a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Ms. Wilkes will guide the start-up phase of the center as it transitions the current free clinic operations to sliding fee service programs, and will continue to serve the organization as it develops innovative strategies to enhance the quality of health care for the uninsured and underinsured in the community.
Ms. Wilkes was the Director of Resource Development for First Coast Workforce Development, Inc., in Jacksonville, Florida prior to joining CHCFD. She has over ten years experience serving non-profit organizations in Oregon where she was Executive Director of North Coast Senior Services, Director of Operations and Business Development at The Challenge Center, and Director of Small Business Development. During her work history, she has created many innovative programs that continue to provide support services and economic assistance to those in need. Included in these accomplishments are: development of a county transportation system, business ventures supporting jobs for adults with disabilities, and career training programs for disadvantaged youth and adults.
Ms. Wilkes holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from De Paul University, and a Bachelors Degree from Wayne State College. She is a native Iowan with roots in Fort Dodge and the surrounding communities. She has returned home where she feels that her knowledge and experience will provide exceptional value to the CHCFD and the community.
