Executive Director

Janice (Jan) Fitts is the Executive Director of Panhandle Community Services (PCS), a non-profit Community Action Agency.  The Community Health Center is one of five major departments within this agency.  She has been a career social worker for 32 years, 15 years in administration.  Ms. Fitts has served the Nebraska Panhandle professionally for nearly 12 years.  Before starting with PCS, Ms. Fitts was the Director of Network Services for the Region 1 Mental Health and Substance Abuse Administration.  Ms. Fitts has a Masters Degree in Social Work and extensive experience in individual, family, and group therapy.  Ms. Fitts has also served as a sheriff’s investigator and was the Director of Operation Appropriate Response, a systems response to child sexual abuse cases, in the County Attorney’s Office.  Ms. Fitts is married with two grown children.  Ms. Fitts received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1973 majoring in Administration of Criminal Justice, Social Work, and minoring in Psychology.  She received her MSW in 1994 from Indiana University.
