Tobacco Cessation Brief Counseling Presentation
The IA/NEPCA Clinical Component provides information sharing, education opportunities, and technical assistance and support to member centers’ clinical staff. The Clinical Component also functions as an information gathering resource for collaborative clinical efforts such as grant applications, clinical training, and the Bureau of Primary Health Care Health Disparities Collaboratives. In 1998 the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) set an ambitious strategic goal to eliminate health disparities for 12 million underserved Americans and guaranteeing them 100% access to quality health care by 2010. As a key element of achieving this goal, BPHC is sponsoring a series of Health Disparities Collaborative for health centers across the country. IA/NEPCA staff assists member centers to apply for participation in the collaboratives, disseminates information on the collaboratives, and works individually with the centers as requested. The IA/NEPCA staff also partners with the Midwest Clinicians Network (MWCN). The Midwest Clinicians Network is a nonprofit corporation consisting of ten states in the Midwest. The Network, coordinated by the Michigan Primary Care Association, was formed to foster networking among clinicians who work in CHC’s. For more information about the Clinical Component please contact Deb Kazmerzak at 515.244.9610 or dkazmerzak@ianepca.com.
